WHAT IS SOCIAL MOBILITY?
Oleeo offers a screening and shortlisting tool which assesses graduate academic performance, and the circumstances in which they were achieved.
Social Mobility in Recruitment refers to how we enable people to apply for, be hired into and progress their career in jobs which may not reflect their socioeconomic status and origins - i.e. their social class

WHAT DOES IT DO?
-
Oleeo’s solution integrates Social Mobility seamlessly into the application form by asking candidates questions about their socioeconomic background for use in the job application process
-
Responses to the application form questions are used to calculate a social mobility score.
- The solution reduces cognitive load on recruiters when sifting candidates in volume with clear metric.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Candidates are required to give their additional consent before being asked to provide Social Mobility information.
- Guidance is provided to clearly explain to the candidate why the information is being asked and how it will benefit them.
Factors assessed include:
- Personal Disadvantage: time spent in care / refugee or asylum seeker / carer or parent
- Socioeconomic Disadvantage: Postcode deprivation / free school meals / 1st generation at university / Part time work whilst at university or at school
- Educational disadvantage: school quality / difficulty of major or course / concentration
For UK candidates, a 5 star rating easily identifies their level of relative performance in comparison to postcode deprivation and school performance:

Candidate’s who give their consent will be assigned a Social Mobility Score (0-100); indicating Low, Medium or High adversity factors.
Recruiters can easily see all DE&I data in one place for screening and shortlisting in line with the organisation's policy.
